AS经济Essay：b问结构解析

Essay的b问，AO1和AO2一共有8分，而AO3有单独的4分。

在解释结构之前，先回答一个大家都很关心的问题：b问需要写AO1吗？

我个人认为，这里分两种情况

1. 如果ab两问考的知识点不同，那b问都需要先写AO1.

在讨论PED和YED如何有用之前，先要把PED和YED的AO1都写上去。

Mark scheme只提到了定义和公式，但保险起见，我建议大家多花一分钟把正负号以及elastic/inelastic都写上去。

题目特地提到了diagram，buffer stock的定义和图都要写。

这题ab两问看似都是考公共交通，但其实a问考classification，b问考subsidy.

因此subsidy的AO1也要先写。

2. 如果ab问考的知识点一样，那a问写过的AO1，b问不需要再写。

这道题a问已经解释过terms of trade，b问就不再需要解释，直接回答问题即可。

不过呢，这里还有2个需要说明的地方

- 即使ab问考的是同样的知识点，如果b问里有一些a问知识点的延伸，大家在回答的时候也要先定义/解释。

b问persistent deficit和a问写的current account deficit并不一样，所以答题的时候依然需要先解释什么是persistent deficit.

- 如果ab问都是弹性题，哪怕ab问考的弹性不一样，b问也不需要再写AO1

这里的b问不需要写PES和XED的AO1.

勤刷题的同学可能要说了，这些题都是冬季考的。而夏季考的mark scheme，貌似不是这样要求的？

我的看法是，新考纲下，CIE也在逐步完善自己的mark scheme，我们尽量按照要求最严格的mark scheme去备考，这样就可以完全避免漏分。

举个例子，冬季考a问的explain the difference，mark scheme上都没有解释difference的分数，但是你敢不写吗？

而b问的essay结构，依然需要分不同的题型。

1. 正反面讨论一个argument + evaluation

这类题每一边至少写3个点以上，解释完整才可以确保满分。

23F2 Assess whether the consequences of economic growth for an economy are always positive.

AO2：economic growth的3-4个好处 + 3-4个坏处

AO3：是不是always positive

2. 比较2个正反面的arguments + evaluation

这类题是大家一定要注意的：每一个argument的正反面都只算AO2.

由于这里理论上可以写8个点，答题的时候每一边最多写2个点并完整解释即可。

- 23W2 Assess whether the concept of price elasticity of supply or cross elasticity of demand will be more useful to a business wanting to increase its total sales in a growing economy. [12]

AO2：PES有用的2个地方+limitations，XED有用的2个地方+limitations

AO3：谁更useful

- 23W2 Assess whether the internal effects of inflation are more serious than the external effects of inflation for an economy. [12]

AO2：internal effects (2个好处+2个坏处）+ external effects （2个好处+2个坏处）

AO3：谁更serious

这个时候你可能会说，specimen里面那个more serious的题不用写好处啊？

我还是那个观点，如果要确保不漏分，我们必须按照最严格的mark scheme来答题。

3.比较2个policy的题

这类题和上面差不多，每个policy的可以/不可以都算AO2，谁更effective之类的算AO3. 这里AO2也是一边写2个点。

23W3 Assess whether supply-side policy is the only way of reducing long-term unemployment in an economy.

AO2：supply-side policy (如何解决+问题）+ 另一个policy (如何解决+问题）

AO3：supply-side policy是不是the only way.

4. Extent

Extent题的结构是先回答怎么回事（AO1+AO2），然后讨论extent（AO3）.

23S3 When the price of a product changes, it usually changes the consumer surplus in the market.

Assess how variations in price elasticity of demand for a product determine the extent of changes in consumer surplus in a market.

AO1：Consumer surplus的概念

AO2：涨价怎么影响CS，讨论不同PED

AO2：降价怎么影响CS，讨论不同PED

AO3：CS的变化是否只受到PED影响

新考纲下暂时只考了1个12分的extent题，这里给大家看一下以前的一个题。

19W1 Discuss, with the use of examples, the extent to which a supermarket could make use of the concept of income elasticity of demand in relation to the different types of goods being sold when there was an increase in consumer incomes.

AO1：YED的概念

AO2：inferior goods的implications

AO2: necessary goods的implications

AO2: luxury goods的implications

AO3：超市的决策是否只受到YED的影响

我们会发现，当题目的关键词是extent的时候，这些limitations就变成了AO3的内容。

这也是为什么我一直说，xx的evaluation怎么写，一定要看题目怎么问。

当然了，extent出现在b问的好事也不多，前面三种题型才是大家需要重点练习的。
