ALEVEL CIE 经济 AS Essay 高分秘籍

新大纲下paper 2的题目量增多，考试时间也由原来的90分钟提升到了120分钟。但真的做下来会发现时间很紧张。本次我将结合官方的评分标准来给大家分享下 AS 12分大Essay如何轻松拿高分。

Assessment objectives

AO1 Knowledge and understanding.

• Show knowledge of syllabus content, recalling facts, formulae, and definitions.
• Demonstrate understanding of syllabus content, giving appropriate explanations and examples.
• Apply knowledge and understanding to economic information using written, numerical, and diagrammatic forms.

Assessment objectives 1 的得分点主要在于对于经济学概念的理解，我们可以通过定义，例子以及画图的形式去拿到这一部分的分数。很多人在开头都会定义很多经济词汇，但其实我们并不需要定义太多。

要避免开头写的像是定义列表一样。一般来说一个Essay里定义1-2个经济学定义就足够了。

保证我们写的定义是和这道题是最相关的知识点。某些情况下我们也可以直接用公式来代替文字的定义（如PED，PES）另外，如果能够给出一些列子也是很好的。例如我们在说Public good 除了解释non rival and non excludable 以外还可以给个public good 的例子如lighthouse, street light.几乎绝大多数的Essay都有图可画。

一般来说当我们向读者解释经济体所面临的问题时会用到Diagram（比如某国经济衰退，某企业垄断或产生污染等）。另外一处会用到Diagram的地方就是解决方案的部分。当我们说某某政策(如tax, regulation等）可以有效的解决某经济问题时，我们也可以用图来表示。

一张有效的图应该包括以下几点。

1. 完整的标题如：“The market for apples in China”

2. 标注所有的lines

3. 用字母标注出所有交叉点，以便你在后续的文章中引用它们。

4. 把图上一些关键区域可以用不同颜色的阴影展现（如consumer surplus, producer surplus)

5. 标出准确的价格和数量（或者是价格和数量变化的百分比） 如果你选择的文献里没有具体说明价格和数量，那么使用P1，P2，Q1，Q2这样的符号。 这里卓老师建议大家尽可能选择有提供量化数值的文献。

6. 尽可能详细完整的标注出X轴和Y轴。下面我们以Demand and Supply curve for apples作为例子。

AO2‍ Analysis

• Examine economic issues and relationships, using relevant economic concepts, theories, and information.
• Select, interpret, and organise economic information in written, numerical, and diagrammatic form.
• Use economic information to recognise patterns, relationships, causes and effects.
• Explain the impacts and consequences of changes in economic variables.

Assessment objectives 2 的得分点主要在基于题目用我们所学过的经济学理论来分析经济问题产生的原因或影响。如果在前面画了图，在这一部分我们需要对于图进行系统讲解。

学生常犯的一个大错误就是他们虽然会在Essay 中提到一些经济学理论或模型（也就是图），但他们往往跳过Explanation的部分。很多同学把知道要画图，但是也就仅仅画了一张图，对于图的解释几乎没有。我们在写一篇评论的时候常常会默认读者已经明白了我们在说什么，这是人类的天性，总是只站在自己的角度思考问题。

因此要想写好Explanation，你需要逼着自己把每一步都解释清楚。

下面我们来看一个例子。我曾经的一位学生在一篇关于宏观经济问题的分析文章中这样写到“ Higher interest rate lead to lower consumption and investment”你可以能会觉得这样写没什么问题，这位学生说的没错，Higher interest rate 确实会导致Lower investment。但是ALEVEL经济其实是一门重视过程而非结果的学科，我们需要更详细的去展现Interest rate 是如何影响investment这一过程。

下面我们来看看一个比较好的Explanation是什么样：“If commercial banks passed on this increase interest rate to their customers, it would raise the cost of borrowing and increase the reward for saving. This would cause consumers to save more and spend less, thus reducing consumption. Also, higher interest rate also means higher cost of borrowing of firms. It would lower the amount of profit firms have available to invest, thus lowering investment level consumption and investment are components of AD (AD=C+I+G+(X-M)), as consumption and investment fall AD will also fall.

像上面这样每一步都写的很清楚并不容易，卓老师的建议是多看一些经济教材或者文献资料里是怎么解释的，尝试借鉴一下。

AO3‍ Evaluation

• Recognise assumptions and limitations of economic information and models.
• Assess economic information and the strengths and weaknesses of arguments.
• Recognise that some economic decisions involve consideration of factors such as priorities and value judgements.
• Communicate reasoned judgements, conclusions, and decisions, based on the arguments.

Assessment objectives 3的得分点主要在于辩证分析，提出不同于前面的观点又或者是展现先前经济理论的局限性。最后，不要忘记结论。

我们写的每一篇Essay都是围绕一个问题展开的。举例来说，如果题目是说吸烟导致患肺病人数上升。那么在我们的评论里至少要Evaluate 一个解决方案。最好是文章里已经提及到了的解决方案（如加税）。如果文章里并没有提及任何解决方案的话那么你就要自己建议一个并evaluate。

这里你需要选择的是最合适的解决方案而不是那些一看就明显不合适的，总之就是要考虑到实用性。关于常见Evaluation Point 大家可以参考下面几点。

Short run, long run 考虑短期和长期的不同效果

Stakeholder 从不同利益群体的角度分析

Significant 影响程度

Pros and Cons 利弊分析

Other factors 其他需要考虑的因素

Measurement 测量不准

Information 文中信息是否可靠
