今 日 考 题
Task 1:Table (动态表格)
Task 2:One long-distance flight consumes fuel which a car uses in several years’ time, but they cause the same amount of pollution. So some people think that we should discourage non-essential flights, such as tourist travel, rather than to limit the use of cars. To what extent do you agree or disagree?(旧题重复)

It is true that a single long-distance flight consumes significantly more fuel and generates greater pollution compared to a car. However, I disagree with the view that we should prioritize reducing unnecessary flights, such as those for tourism, over restricting car usage.
On the one hand, there are two compelling reasons to support non-essential flights. First, these flights significantly contribute to economic growth by attracting tourists, which in turn generates substantial revenue for local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, and cultural sites. This influx of tourists also creates jobs, boosting employment across various sectors. Second, tourist flights promote cultural exchange between nations, as they provide the most efficient means of long-distance international travel. They enable individuals to experience different cultures firsthand and gain a deeper understanding of unfamiliar countries. This not only strengthens international ties but also fosters mutual respect and appreciation across borders.
On the other hand, reducing flights instead of car usage overlooks the significant contribution of the vast number of vehicles on the roads to pollution. While a single flight may have a larger carbon footprint than an individual car, the cumulative effect of millions of cars in daily operation is a serious environmental concern. In urban areas, for example, the emissions from thousands of vehicles severely impact air quality. With the private-car ownership continually increasing, this problem is becoming even more pressing; therefore, reducing the number of private cars is necessary to address this growing environmental issue.
In conclusion, while flights contribute to emissions, their economic and cultural benefits make them essential. Given the significant pollution from millions of cars, I firmly believe that restricting private car usage should take priority.
