Sentence 1

2. 其次找到2个定语从句，剩下的含有谓语动词的部分即主句部分——“Jame Boswell described the garret as “fitted up like a counting house”。

3. 需要注意的是同位语的用法——名词后面跟的名词短语，对前面的名词起解释说明作用，所以“his biographer” 是在对“Jame Boswell”的身份进行解释；

4. 介词短语作为后置定语则可以对前面的内容起到修饰作用，“with a long desk running down the middle”是在对“counting house”进行修饰。
