如何迅速读懂托福长难句？

 刷过阅读题的小伙伴们都知道，长难句少则两三行，多则五六行，甚至会出现一整段只有一句话的情况。长难句通常会出句子简化题（细节题和推断题也常涉及长难句）。而在考试中，解决托福长难句最要紧的一个方法就是精读，但是究竟怎么个精读方法呢？跟着老师一起往下看！

01、今日句子

Sentence 1

1. 首先找出句子中的动词（“is”），找到主句。前后两个都是介词短语作为插入语直接理解即可。

2. 大家需要注意的是在第一个插入语结构中有一个非谓语动词“subjected”，表示主句中的主语“深海底部”（the deep-ocean bottom）“承受了”（subjected to）“高压”（intense pressure）。

3. 在第二个插入语结构中有一个短语需要大家正确理解：“in some ways as … as …”，表示“在某些方面就像…一样”，同学们要注意正确断句。

1. 首先找出句子中的动词（“was marked”, “seemed”）和从句引导词（“that”），找出“that”引导的定语从句。除去介词短语和从句，剩下的含有谓语动词的部分即主句部分——“the transformation was marked by the emergence of the grain elevators, the cotton presses, the warehouse, and the commodity exchanges”。

2. 需要注意的是定语从句中“seem to sb sth”表示“ …对某人来说似乎是某样东西”。同学们同样要注意正确切割句子的意群。（注：意群是指几个相邻的、在意义和语法结构上紧密联系、表示整体意思的一组词语）
